Love this piece. I really, really appreciate the time, effort and depth you got into pulling them together. Thank you Mario. I didn't know Airwallex before I read this piece but having run a business in Australia, China, HK and most countries in SE Asia I recognise the problems they solve and the challenges they face. Only a super determined founding team would breakthrough in this space. However, that founding team needs to be reflective enough to change with the business or suffer the fate of other hard charging founders e.g. Uber who built a culture that programmed winning above all. Good luck Airwallex such an opportunity.

I'm so glad to hear it, Colin! I really find it super rewarding to get to spend so much time with a company and go this deep. It's awesome to know that folks like you enjoy the results of that process.

Agreed with you on all fronts -- it's a special company that definitely has more to figure out and learn. I think they're on the right path, but as I mention in the piece, the right way to measure culture is really over several years!
